This home was featured as “Design of the Year” in a nationally recognized home magazine. Set in a lovely tree- filled community just outside of Langley, this sophisticated home nestles among native ferns, huckleberries, mosses and cedar trees, on a gentle roll of hill facing south. The outside living area of this home opens at ground level to the soft scents of a Northwest forest filled with feeding birds and woodpeckers. The owners have created a serene landscape of moss, stone and wood all meticulously and lovingly maintained.

The interior volumes of the home are at once dramatic and refined, blending fresh modern design and warmly finished woodcraft. The living room fireplace soars to a ceiling 25' above with expansive skylights. French windows opening from the 2nd floor bedrooms above connect all the interior rooms and offer a variety of natural cross lighting and ventilation. European Beech wood floors through out are evenly warmed with a gas fired “In-Floor” heating system by a highly respected local craftsman. The gentleman (a retired electrician) for whom the house was built worked side by side with our crews to design a beautiful interior lighting scheme that favors the interior day or night.

The kitchen is a highly functional and practical workspace designed by the lady of the house to provide an environment for wonderful culinary creations both formal and informal. The owners attended to every detail of this home with a creative and generous spirit. It is truly a home that blends beauty, function and form. This project was a great experience with great clients.
