"Our vision is to bring
the outdoors in – the trees, water, sky, mountains and wildlife.
Our architect, Richard
Rhydes, said “It sounds like we should start with a roof
and glass”.
Barb visualized three pavilions consisting of
a master retreat, great room, and guest house all experiencing
the expansive view through floor to ceiling windows.
The construction and design
elements chosen were stone, glass, and wood that capture
the tones of the forest, and the beach.
An open floor plan that
flows through “not too big”, “not too small”,
but “just right room sizes”. The main house and guest house
are a one level design with no barriers. This design fits our current
active lifestyle and accommodates possible future disabilities. This stunning, powerful
and sophisticated home has been brought to life via these three principal
elements.
